Job Description 

As a Web Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services that power our health technology products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, frontend developers, and product managers, to build high-performance systems that meet the unique challenges of healthcare and AI-driven applications. 

Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and modern frameworks such as Django and FastAPI. 

  • Build efficient data models and manage PostgreSQL databases, including query optimization, indexing, and complex schema design. 

  • Develop distributed task processing systems using Celery and Redis for event-driven architectures and high-throughput workloads. 

  • Deploy and manage cloud-based services on AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, ECS). 

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless development and deployment processes. 

  • Collaborate on system architecture design with a focus on performance, scalability, and security. 

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices. 

  • Work with healthcare and AI-focused teams to integrate advanced analytics and machine learning services into backend systems. 

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. 

  • 1+ year of backend development experience with Python. 

  • Strong proficiency in Django, FastAPI, Pydantic, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization techniques. 

  • Expertise in PostgreSQL, including complex queries, indexing strategies, and database design. 

  • Hands-on experience with Celery and Redis for building task queues, caching systems, and event-driven services. 

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, ECS). 

  • Solid knowledge of Linux, Git, and Docker, with practical experience in containerization and orchestration. 

  • Experience with CI/CD workflows and modern DevOps practices. 

  • Strong system design skills and commitment to clean code and best practices. 

  • Prior experience in healthcare, health tech, or AI-related projects is a strong plus. 

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of R language and ability to write R scripts. 

  • Familiarity with Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA). 

  • Experience integrating Python and Java services using REST, gRPC, or message queues.

Job Description 

As an AI/ML Engineer, you will: 

  • Design and implement algorithms for clinical data processing and validation using LLMs 

and related GenAI techniques such as RAG, MCP Server, AI Agent Framework, etc. 

  • Research and apply multi-agent architectures that combine reasoning, planning, tool 

invocation, and self-reflection to tackle complex data transformation and review tasks 

  • Build and optimize end-to-end data pipelines to automate SDTM, ADaM conversion, and 

TLF generation 

  • Collaborate with clinical statisticians, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure 

compliance with FDA and CDISC standards 

Qualifications Required

Core Skills & Experience 

  • Strong background in Machine Learning and NLP: 
    - Deep understanding of modern machine learning algorithms and natural language processing techniques. 
    - Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. 

  • Proficiency in Python and engineering best practices: 
    - Ability to write clean, efficient, production-ready code with strong debugging and optimization skills. 
    - Familiarity with data pipeline design and distributed computing environments. 

  • Experience with LLM-based AI Agent development: 
    - Practical experience in building or applying LLM-powered agents, including frameworks like LangGraph, AutoGen, AutoGPT, or similar. 
    - Solid knowledge of techniques such as reasoning (e.g., chain-of-thought, tree-of-thought), task decomposition and multi-step planning, and self-reflection/self-correction for improving model reliability. 

  • Problem-solving mindset and analytical skills: 
    - Ability to design algorithms for complex clinical data transformation, validation, and automation. 
    - Familiarity with concepts of multi-agent orchestration, reasoning chains, and verification loops. 

  • Strong English reading and comprehension: 
    - Capable of understanding FDA/CDISC technical guidelines, clinical trial standards, and regulatory documentation. 

Preferred: Industry & Domain Knowledge 

  • Familiarity with clinical trial data standards, such as SDTM, ADaM, and TFL generation. 

  • Understanding of FDA submission requirements, CDISC standards, and other regulatory frameworks in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. 

  • Experience deploying AI/ML systems in highly regulated environments with strict compliance and data privacy controls. 

  • Knowledge of data quality assurance, automated validation, and audit-ready process design.
